In connection with the high-profile ration distribution corruption case in West Bengal, Dev Priya Mallick, the elder brother of the state's Forest Minister Jyotipriya Mallick, was summoned and interrogated by the central agency. Dev Priya Mallick arrived at the Enforcement Directorate (ED) regional headquarters in CGO Complex around 10:00 am, bearing various documents.
Despite not holding a government position, he was reportedly a member of the Public Service Commission (PSC) and is being questioned in this context. ED officials revealed that Jyotipriya Mallick allegedly used the bank accounts of several family members, including his elder brother, for the transfer of funds linked to the ration distribution corruption case.
The investigation into the corruption case continues to unfold as family members of the former Food Minister are interrogated. On a previous occasion, Jyotipriya Mallick's daughter, Priyadarshini Mallick, was questioned by the ED, during which she submitted numerous documents. Now, the focus has shifted to documents related to the bank transactions of Jyotipriya's elder brother. The case underscores the central agency's efforts to uncover alleged irregularities in the distribution of ration in West Bengal.
